Cheap Denver Apartments

Friday, January 28, 2011

The increasing costs of owning a home in Denver have led many people to choose a rental property instead, even though rents are up slightly. Apartments in Denver are still very affordable. To find the right housing option for you, think about all the different things you would want in an apt because there are so many from which to choose.

When beginning your Denver apartment search, you should decide on which part of the Mile High City you’ll want to live. Some of the places where you should search for an apt, especially if you have a family, are in the prestigious or popular neighborhoods like Washington Park, Cherry Creek, and Capitol Hill.

There are plenty of apartments in Denver so you must decide on the type of apt you want, whether it’s a loft in an old, renovated warehouse or an apt community that offers lots of amenities, like a workout room, pool, etc. There’s such a wide variety of Denver apartments for rent that the decision can be time-consuming and overwhelming.

You may want to hire a service provider, like locators, that can make your search an easy one. A locator specializes in making your search a quick one. And they can find you a Denver apartment that comes on the market before any other renters see it. What an advantage using locators would give you!

Hunting for Apartments in Denver

Thursday, December 02, 2010

Because of it’s location between the High Plains and the Rocky Mountains, Denver, Colorado has four very distinct seasons. With over 79 official neighborhoods that vary in housing options, it’s easy to see why finding the right Denver apartment can be as unpredictable as the weather.

A locator service can help you narrow down which neighborhoods are best for your budget, from the Golden Triangle/Museum District which is fast becoming the best place for living downtown to the upscale apts in the Cherry Creek neighborhood. However, when you conduct your Denver apartment search, be sure to also look at the apartment ratings in Denver from sites such as apartmentreviews.net. Most of the comments at Yelp for Denver neighborhoods recommend living fairly close to downtown, although the lack of garages downtown makes the weather an important consideration in your choice.

A specialist can also help you decipher a Denver apt listing, keeping in mind other considerations such as your commute and nearby school districts or other family-oriented locations. Denver also has plenty of options for those into sports and the arts as well.

Nicknamed the “Mile-High City,” Denver is the largest city in 500 miles and is, therefore, a key location for distribution. As a result, the cost of living is above the national average, making the median price for apartments in Denver around $700 per month. However, it’s not out of the question to see rents up to $2,000 a month.

When you’re looking at Denver apartments for rent, it’s best to be prepared for all options and all seasons, and making sure to find the best one for your situation.

Living in the Mile High City: Finding Denver Apartments for Rent

Living in the Mile High City: Finding Denver Apartments for Rent

Denver Apartments

Denver has over 300 days of sunshine a year – who wouldn’t want to live here?  Gorgeous views, clean air, close proximity to world class skiing, culture, dining, and entertainment – it is an urban adventurist’s dream come true.  But will you be paying dearly for those Rocky Mountain views, hundreds of miles of bike trails, and unique galleries and museums with your Denver apartment rent?

Denver’s cost of living is about thirty-five percent higher than in other cities in the United States, but rents have dropped 1.1 percent in the first quarter of 2010 as vacancy levels stagnate.  This is a good time to find rental housing: average apartments in Denver go for about $752 per month, and rents are expected to continue to slip throughout the year.  So what is the best part of the city in which to search for an apartment?

You can find affordable Denver apartments for rent in many of the city’s best neighborhoods, including Cherry Creek, Washington Park, Capital Hill, City Park, and Downtown.  The best way to find an apartment for a reasonable price is to visit online locators like rent.com.  Denver apt listings appear, along with special offers that are currently being run.  One Cherry Creek apt complex, for instance, is offering a $300 reduction in rent for the first month if a year lease is signed or $150 reduction for a 6 or 9 month lease.

Let your Denver apartment search begin!  You can find apartment of your dreams in this great city.

Politics and roommates

Saturday, March 06, 2010

It seems sometimes that there are constantly elections, by-elections and special elections going on all the time. It used to be that it was an every two to four year cycle, but for politics junkies, every issue is worth debating. If you have found yourself living with someone with disparate political leanings, it can be tough keeping that part of your life separate, but it might be a good idea to reduce stress and even potential fights and arguments. Here are a few tips if you have found yourself living with your polar political opposite.

If you are an overly political person, it would be a good idea to include that information in any sort of roommate ads that you place. When you start giving interviews, make sure you include that information since it would be almost impossible to live with someone who is as politically active as you, but for the other side. However, if you think that this living arrangement could serve as a learning experience, than by all means go ahead, but you should be aware that your roommate may not be as open to learning new ideas as you are, so you had better check on that before you start.

Try to keep any overt signs of your political leanings out of any public spaces so that they don’t grate on your roommates feelings. Living with anyone who you have starkly different feelings or ideas with is all about respect. This applies to religion, politics, food preferences, different tastes in music or movies or if you are a morning person and your roommate is a night person. Being able to find a roommate that you are completely compatible with can be just about impossible and there are likely going to be conflicts. It is up to you and your roommate to get over your differences and make your situation work. If you can’t, it is smart to end the partnership as quickly as possible and move on.
